Small biggish announcement.
ArtisticWell, the announcement is I'm currently working on a surreal animated short. Yeah. That's all. I told you it wasn't a big deal.
I've been working on it for some time now (a few years in total), but I preferred not to talk about it since I have abandoned the project and started over several times. The reason I'm announcing it now is that I've reached a pretty advanced production stage, and it is highly unlikely that I abandon it now. Plus, if anyone is interested and notices little progress, they may feel free to harrss me until I get to it again.
Well, a short description of the thing: Um, it will be about 2 minutes long (a few seconds longer, perhaps, but the music for it is exactly two minutes long - yes, it's a short short) and will be comprised of different surreal scenes, animated, but not so much in themselves. That is, the scenes themselves are quite static, except for some characters and stuff like the wind and camera motions... Some of the concepts for these scenes you've already seen here.
So...Yeah, "Animated"... It's an animated short in the same way that La Jetée is a motion picture
The scenes will be connected by a main concept, which is a man waiting for a bus. The surroundings of this character are what evoke the surreal images.
And I think I see a blatantly obvious but honestly automatic social commentary forming in it. But we'll see.
Maybe I'll submit some sketches of it as Scraps, if anyone's interested (including, in the first place, but not limited to, myself)...
Yeah. That's all. I told you it wasn't interesting.
In other news... I'm having a reasonably good time in the real world. I'm, in fact, quite happy at the moment.
